[click on image to enlarge] Our sleeping Earth Dragon peacefully awaits boarding The Friday Ark. The WCB will be graciously and deliciously hosted by s'kat and the food. Stop by and say hello. You are in for a real treat of the most beautiful May flowers and welcoming kitties gathered together in one place!
Well, it's not quite a video from the chilly porch as promised, but she did make it to a sunny warm spot in the bedroom, where she wasfeeling better and sleeping up a storm!! The best part -- there were no more tummy upsets.
Sweet Taboo was feeling a little out of sorts today, not ready when it came time for her close-up, but she's a little better tonight and snuggling comfortably with sweet dreams in her favorite hide-a-way.
Sh-h-hh, let's let her sleep, she had a long day.
She'll have to wave bon voyage from shore to Friday's Ark, though, until the sea's a little less choppy.
'Boo hopes to catch up with all her WCB travel buddies and the gorgeous resident kitties over at Pet's Garden Blog. Don't wait to drop by, there's some important NEW information about contaminated pet food. What a nightmare.
Maybe we could even persuade her to make her maiden YouTube video [check back for a link], just to prove she occasionally gets out, onto the porch to check that the usual suspects [other cats, dogs, a bear once, raccoons and possums] have not taken over her backyard. She enjoys the birds and squirrels, but I'm thinking "a little too much!"
She's hoping you check back later in the weekend to see her...feeling better.
Here, we find a cave kitty having lunch in her lair. She's hoping there will be room service like this on Friday's Ark. Also this weekend, dash on over to hang out with Puddyat A Byootaful Life, where there are some pretty yummy-sounding links, like pizza & mice! Oops, I think the mice might be friends, they have names and a place to stay, so don't eat them.
Racism Is to Be Expected From Don Imus CBS, NBC, media pundits complicit in talk host's bigotry
In his most recent racist outburst, on April 4, Imus called the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos," just moments after sidekick and executive producer Bernard McGuirk (the "nigger jokes" hire) called them "hard-core hos." The Rutgers team, which recently played in the national championship finals, is made up of eight African-American women and two white women. [Read more...]
On April 4, 1968, civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., 39, was shot to death in Memphis, Tenn.
Martin Luther King Is Slain in Memphis A White Is Suspected; Johnson Urges Calm
Dr. King was shot while he leaned over a second-floor railing outside his room at the Lorraine Motel. He was chatting with two friends just before starting for dinner.
One of the friends was a musician, and Dr. King had just asked him to play a Negro spiritual, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," at a rally that was to have been held two hours later in support of striking Memphis sanitation men. [Go to article...]
Taboo's friend Petra has stopped to warm up and rest awhile, before her big push this weekend, which closes out her "busy" season. Petra stopped by last year, too, when these old pals had time for a joke picture together under the armoire.
Brrr-rrr-rrr, we hope the heaters are all turned up high at Friday's Ark.
Don't pig out on too many peeps, you'll want to save some room for this weekend's cat blogging, because Upsie and the gang over at What Did You Eatwill be hosting. And don't you just know in your heart of hearts there will be a divine spread put out by Sher?
Wow, what a great ending to a spring weekend. Now if only it won't deep freeze the new plants and flowers Saturday night!
Heard of a van that is loaded with weapons packed up and ready to go Heard of some grave sites, out by the highway a place where nobody knows The sound of gunfire, off in the distance I'm getting used to it now Lived in a brownstone, lived in the ghetto I've lived all over this town This ain't no party, this ain't no disco this ain't no fooling around No time for dancing, or lovey dovey I ain't got time for that now Transmit the message, to the receiver hope for an answer some day I got three passports, couple of visas don't even know my real name High on a hillside, trucks are loading everything's ready to roll I sleep in the daytime, I work in the nighttime I might not ever get home This ain't no party, this ain't no disco this ain't no fooling around This ain't no mudd club, or C. B. G. B. I ain't got time for that now Heard about Houston? Heard about Detroit? Heard about Pittsburgh, PA? You oughta know not to stand by the window somebody might see you up there I got some groceries, some peanut butter to last a couple of days But I ain't got no speakers ain't got no headphones ain't got no records to play Why stay in college? Why go to night school? Gonna be different this time? Can't write a letter, can't send a postcard I can't write nothing at all This ain't no party, this ain't no disco this ain't no fooling around I'd love you hold you, I'd like to kiss you I ain't got no time for that now Trouble in transit, got through the roadblock we blended in with the crowd We got computers, we're tapping phone lines I know that ain't allowed We dress like students, we dress like housewives or in a suit and a tie I changed my hairstyle so many times now don't know what I look like! You make me shiver, I feel so tender we make a pretty good team Don't get exhausted, I'll do some driving you ought to get you some sleep Get your instructions, follow directions then you should change your address Maybe tomorrow, maybe the next day whatever you think is best Burned all my notebooks, what good are notebooks? They won't help me survive My chest is aching, burns like a furnace the burning keeps me alive Try to stay healthy, physical fitness don't want to catch no disease Try to be careful, don't take no chances you better watch what you say
Hell is a place where sinners really do burn in an everlasting fire, and not just a religious symbol designed to galvanise the faithful, the Pope has said.
Addressing a parish gathering in a northern suburb of Rome, Benedict XVI said that in the modern world many people, including some believers, had forgotten that if they failed to “admit blame and promise to sin no more”, they risked “eternal damnation — the Inferno”.
Hell “really exists and is eternal, even if nobody talks about it much any more”, he said.
